About Faculty of Fine Arts and Music 
The Faculty of Fine Arts and Music, which includes the Victorian College of the Arts and the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, offers a wide range of disciplines to master, including composition, conducting, dance, design, production, ethnomusicology, film and television, interactive composition, jazz and improvisation, musicology, music performance, music psychology, music theatre, music therapy, theatre, and visual arts. 

About the Role 
The Teaching Support role is responsible for supporting the academic delivery of the Faculty's coursework academic programs. This includes activities such as scheduling exams, managing assessments and results, providing teaching resources and support to academic staff, and ensuring effective communication with students and other stakeholders. The successful candidate must build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to deliver high-quality services and support. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Contribute to the delivery of services and administration supporting teaching and learning activity and program delivery
  • Contribute to the scheduling of music examinations, recitals and technical practical-based assessment
  • Provide administrative support for Board of Examiners Meetings
  • Contribute to teacher allocations in the music programs each semester
  • Data cohort management 

As a Teaching Support officer, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality academic programs, providing essential support to academic staff and stakeholders, and maintaining effective working relationships to ensure timely service delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and committed to supporting the academic success of students studying Fine Arts and Music.  

About You
You will have strong organizational and time management skills, problem-solving ability, knowledge of academic policies, and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a creative arts environment as part of a team. You will also maintain high attention to detail. 

You will also have: 

  • A degree or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. 
  • Technical proficiency in general computing and the use of databases and the ability to learn and implement software systems and solutions 
  • Experience with exam scheduling and/or result processing  
  • Experience with music performances, concerts and/or events 
  • Experience within a tertiary education environment
